Visit participating businesses from December 3 to 3PM on December 17 to collect 12 stamps. 

 

Drop off your completed card to Lone Wolf Mechanical, Sam’s Balloons & Vinyl Creations/Proactive Lube Manager, Thorsby Family Restaurant, Royal Care Pharmacy, Tail Wagging Guidance & Training Ltd., or Village Supermarket.  A lucky winner will be drawn on December 18!

 

Cash Raffle

Christmas in the Village usually runs a 50/50 as part of the festivities.  We partner with community groups to run and benefit from it.  This year, the Thorsby Lions are our partner group, and they are offering a CASH RAFFLE!!  Tickets are $5 for a chance to win up to $3700.  They can be purchased from any Thorsby Lions member, the Sam’s Balloons & Vinyl Creations table at the Christmas Market on December 11 (see below), and numerous locations around Thorsby, soon to be announced! 

 

The draw will be made December 17 at the Thorsby Lions Campground.  Proceeds will go to support Wounded Warriors and various Thorsby community organizations.

 

Christmas Elves Donations

Drop off your cash or gift card donations from December 3 to 17 to the boxes located at ATB Financial, Care N Massage & Holistika Day Spa, Coffee Pucks & Poutine (Complex concession), Dyck Insurance, Kollbrook ESSO, Lone Wolf Mechanical, Royal Care Pharmacy, Sam’s Balloons & Vinyl Creations/ Proactive Lube Manager, Thorsby Family Restaurant/ Jerry’s Sports Lounge, Thorsby Hotel, Bar & Grill, Twisted Lime Liquor Co., and Village Supermarket.

 

Christmas Market

Get your last-minute holiday shopping done at the Christmas in the Village Christmas Market! Support local vendors on Saturday, December 11 from 10AM-3PM at the Hoffman’s Building on the corner of Hankin St & 49 Ave.  Vendor fee is going to support the Christmas Elves.  Check out our Holiday Photo Booth to get a festive portrait done in exchange for a donation to the Christmas Elves and the first 50 visitors to the booth get a candy bag from Coffee Pucks & Poutine.  Or show off you tree decorating skills by entering our BYOTree decorating contest where market goers vote for their favourite entries.

Christmas Parade

Share in the holiday spirit by joining or watching the Christmas Parade on Friday, December 17 at 7PM.  Staging will take place starting at 6PM in the parking lot between the schools.  We will be winding throughout Thorsby so check out when we will be in your neighborhood

What would Christmas in the Village be without fireworks!  Join us at 8PM on Friday, December 17.  More details coming soon!

 

Gingerbread House Contest

A treasured tradition during Christmas in the Village, the gingerbread house contest is back again this year!  Drop off your creation December 10-14 to Bilar's Garage on Hankin Street. 

 

Categories:  Child (0-6 yrs), Youth (7-9 yrs), Tween (10-12 yrs), Teen (13-17 yrs), Adult (18+), Family, and Business. 

 

Entries will be judged by members of Thorsby Town Council on December 17 and winners announced on December 18.  NEW THIS YEAR!  If you do not want to take your entry home, you can put it up for Silent Auction from December 15-17 with all proceeds going to support the Leduc & District Food Bank. 

 

Make sure you come by and bid on the amazing works of art in support of a good cause.  Entries can be picked up on December 20.

 

Nominate Your Neighbour (or Yourself) Decorating Contest

Thorsby never fails to impress with their Christmas Decorations!  Nominate a display that you find amazing and recognize the efforts the residents of Thorsby put in to keep spirits bright.  Categories:  Best Business, Best Inflatables, Best Homemade, Best Lights, and Best Overall Display.  Nominations are accepted until 3PM on December 16 using by entering the information at tinyurl.com/2021ThorsbyDecorations or using the form found in the Target (which can be dropped off into the SOS Bookkeeping and Taxes drop box on the south side of the building).  Judging will take place on December 17 at 8:30PM so make sure you turn on your lights!

 

Who's Behind the Beard? Photo Hunt

Last year's photo hunt was a smashing success with over 400 guesses!  Unfortunately, this year Santa couldn't join us but he sent local businesses a beard and hat so we could guess who's behind the beard!
